Door Closers and Controls
Generally door closers are found on fire doors where self-closing is a legal requirement, and elsewhere where it is convenient to ensure that doors stay shut. They range from economic uncontrolled door slammers to sophisticated models that operate only in emergencies and can be adjusted for changing conditions. SDS are able to provide overhead door closers that meet the current DDA requirements for door opening forces.

Intumescent seals are designed for upgrading fire resistant doors so they provide protection against fire and smoke for up to 30 or 60 minutes.  They are easilt routed into the door edge or frame

is it fire rated?

Hi - yes this product has been tested to BS EN1634 on FD30, 60, 90 & 120 Minute Timber.

Is this door closer available with a hold open option?

There is a hold open version of this door closer, however you will need to contact our sales team for more information.

Would these be suitable for external use ?

No, standard door closers are generally not suitable for external use as they may not withstand exposure to weather elements like rain, humidity, and extreme temperatures. However, you can use this door closer on the interior side of a door that opens externally. If you are unable to fit a door closer on internally, a concealed door closer may be suitable for your application.
