The marathon fire door kit FDK1 is produced in one standard size, for use with the various marathon sliding door sets - see Related Products
Fire rated for use on single doors, easily operated sliding door
The Marathon Fire Door Kit FDK1 systems is developed as part of a half hour sliding fire door assembly to BS 476: Part 22: 1987, and should be installed on the non-fire risk side of an aperture.
The assembly must be fitted with a solid core FD30 or FD60 timber-based fire door, positively appraised by Warrington Fire Research or CERTIFIRE approved.
Assessment report WRFC No. C116602 confirms that a sliding fire door assembly, fitted in accordance with these instructions, will offer 30 minutes of fire protection in accordance with BS 476: Part 22: 1987, (ref: report Warres No. 40991)
Kit Includes
Z Section anti smoke seal
Brackets and plates to prevent door warping in fire situation
Pair of fire apron plates to replace Marathon nylon plates
Length of steel cable to connect to Marathon gear
Pulley wheel
Selection of weights to suit door weight
Cable clamp to secure weights to cable
For doors over 44mm thick the track needs to be packed from behind to reduce door offset. It\'s also required that intumescent fire seals be incorporated into the door framework to contain the fire within the fire area (do not use smoke seals as this will hinder self closing action) - see Related Products
To be used for fire control only, cannot be used for smoke control
Fire door not included
Please Note: The door must be free to close at all times, only retain in the open position with electromagnets wired in to the fire alarm system. Also, be aware of the area the door moves through during its operating cycle, keep people and objects out of the way at all times.
